U Do It gutter cleaning quest is more than just a how to clean your gutters. Join me on this quest to see how I setup my Little Giant ladder and clean out my gutters. There’s some side quests awaiting you.
The main questline began on Thursday morning I was awoken to the sound of a squirrel digging in our gutter. This is the second time I heard it and I rushed to my window and saw him pop his head out. I ran outside and saw him running away and then stopping and looking at me as if he know. I setup my small fiberglass ladder and got a peak of the gutter with my phone.
That evening I setup my cameras and began capturing “What would U Do It do?”. I try to maintain focus on the task at hand: inspecting the gutter and eves and then cleaning out the gutter.
Ladder Safety
Ladder safety training is invaluable. There’s a lot that can go wrong and it just doesn’t include falling from the ladder. Please consult a licensed handyman if you are uncomfortable with any part of this project.
The ladder that I use is the Little Giant, which is rated for 300lbs. This ladder is very strong. You can configure this ladder in a few different ways. It can even act as a trestle for holding a plank. I was able to configure it in a way to allow me to get close to the gutter.
Vacuum Hose
I have several 2 1/2 inch vacuum hoses that I use and join them together with a coupler. This works well, especially when you need to climb a ladder and you do not want to hold a vacuum.
