The Greenworks 40V Polesaw is a great addition to my landscaping tool collection. It is able to trim branches like butter. I have no interest in climbing a ladder with a chainsaw and or using a handheld manual saw. I didn’t enjoy the days in my youth where I had to cut branches by hand. This saw really made the job easier. And who doesn’t love operating power tools.
The saw is light enough for me to move it around and trim the branches. The saw comes with a 40V battery and a charger. It does not come with chain and bar oil. You will need to purchase that separately. Be sure to add the oil as I did. This will extend the life of your bar and your chain.

Polesaw Assembly
Read the instructions. Charge the battery. Verify your battery has a full charge. Assemble your polesaw per the instructions. Follow along with my video to see how I put it together. Secure the connections by tightening them down. Install the battery. Add the chain and bar oil to the reservoir.

Your First Cut with your Greenworks Polesaw
You may need to cut a series of branches. There are many reasons like obstruction to a pathway, touching your home or they were damaged in a storm or are dead. Choose your first cut wisely.
Safety First
You are responsible for safe practices. Safety is a mind set. You can apply it to all areas. Yes, tools can be dangerous. Respect them and use safe practices. Consider that your work area can be a hazard as well. If you feel uncomfortable with any of these steps it is recommended that you consult with a licensed arborist.
Follow the laws in your town, city, state as you may not legally have permission to trim them. The opposite applies to some species where it is your responsibility to ensure you properly maintain them. Laws might be complex surrounding wetlands. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are operating in accordance with all applicable laws.
